I am directed by the Sarl of Crewe to acknow- ledge the receipt of your letter No.55579 of the ith instant, enclosing cupies of tac despatches from Wis Majest, 's Charge d'Affaires at Peking with refurunce to the Canton Kowloon Railway.

2. With regard to the first of these respatches (No.315) the Secretary of State notes that a copy has already been forwarded to Hong Kong, As Sir E.frey

is aware, further negotiations are awaiting the arrival of "ir .lucard at Peking.
